Here there is a small vegetable patch a grazing area and of course a peat store, the peat would have been cut by the entire family dried on the bog and then brought down in peat creels or by donkey to the house for winter fuel and cooking. There is also a cow tail pump of a design seen all over Ireland and frequently still working today
